Placing an order with our online shop is easy. The whole order takes place on the website, we cannot accept orders by phone, fax, or e-mail.
Here are the steps you need to follow to place an order.
Find the Items You Would Like to Buy
First you will need to browse or search for the items you would like to order. A search box is located at the top of the page on our online shop, or you can click the ‘Shop All’ box on the home screen. You can also browse the category pages, listed across the page header. When you find an item you like, you can click 'Quick Shop' to see a summary of the item, or click the image or name of the item to find out more details.
Add Items to Your Shopping Cart
To order an item from our shop, choose the quantity required in the box on the right-hand side and then click the ‘Add to Cart’ button on the item's product information page. Once you've added an item to your shopping cart you can choose to ‘Checkout’ or ‘View cart’. If you select ‘View cart’, you can do so and then click ‘Continue Shopping’ to keep browsing until your cart contains all the items you wish to order or check out from here. You can check the contents of your shopping cart at any time by clicking the basket icon at the top of the page on the right-hand side.
Proceed to Checkout
When you're ready to place your order, click on the shopping basket icon at the top right-hand side of the page. You can then check your order and click on the ‘Checkout’ box at the bottom of the page. Make any adjustments to your order before proceeding to the checkout.
You will see details of your order on the right-hand side. If you have a discount code, there is space to enter and apply this and your total order value will adjust accordingly.
If you have an account with us, you can log into your account at this stage.
If you do not have an account with us, you will be asked to enter your email or mobile phone number. At this point you can also opt to keep up to date with news and exclusive offers. Tick this box if you would like to opt into this.
Enter your shipping address and select 'Continue to Shipping' or 'Return to Cart' if you would like to make any changes to your order at this stage.
Review your contact and shipping details provided. The shipping method and cost will auto populate depending on the shipping destination.
You can now select 'Continue to Payment' to proceed or 'Return to Information' to make any changes to your details.
Next, let us know how you would like to pay for your order. Choose your payment method and enter details. You must enter the card number without any spaces or dashes. Payment will be debited from your account at time of ordering
Note: We do not accept cheques, cash in any other currency, or purchase orders.
All payments will be processed for us by Shopify Payments, powered by Stripe who provide the secure link between our online shop and our bank to ensure your card details are kept secure and various fraud checks can take place. The transaction will appear on your card statement as SP * HISTORIC SCOTLAND.
You should now advise the billing address that matches your card or payment method. Advise if this is the same as the shipping address or select 'Use a different billing address' and enter these details.
All prices include VAT at the standard rate (where applicable).
You will know your order has been placed when you reach a page that says, "Thank you" and "Your order is confirmed". Your order number will be noted on the top left hand side above "Thank You". You will also receive an order confirmation email and text message if you opted in to receive this. You will receive a second email or text message once your order has been dispatched. When you place your order, we will acknowledge your wish to enter into a sales contract with us by means of the order confirmation email.
