The official New Abbey Corn Mill Guidebook.

The origins of this water-powered mill probably date back to the foundation of nearby Sweetheart Abbey in 1273, but milling continued on the site long after the Cistercian monks had left the village. The present building was erected in the 1790s and altered in the 1850s–60, finally closing in the 1940s. Its machinery is still in working order. This illustrated book describes the ingenious mechanisms of the mill and the stories of some of the millers.
