One O'Clock Gun Limited Edition Whisky
Our limited edition One O'Clock Gun Whisky was distilled at the famous Glenallachie distillery in Speyside, the spirit was filled into an ex-bourbon hogshead cask on the 1st October 2007, where it remained for 17 years before bottling by Edinburgh Whisky Co.
Chosen from the extensive inventory at Edinburgh Whisky’s bonded warehouse, especially for the Edinburgh Castle 1 O’clock Gun collaboration, the whisky was bottled from a single cask at a natural strength of 56.5% abv, un-chill filtered and all-natural colour from the cask.
The Single Malt Scotch Whisky has a delicate nose of golden syrup, dried fruits, and baked pastries, developing into a palate of lemon curd, ginger, and more honey. A long lingering finish with spicy oak.

Since 1861, the Edinburgh Castle One O'Clock Gun has been fired daily at precisely 1pm, with the only exceptions being Sundays, good Friday and Christmas Day.
The Gun began as an aid to shipping in the Firth of Forth. Back then, navigators would calculate their position in the sea by chartering the height of the sun in the sky against the time of day.
