Elcho is a wonderfully preserved tower house, a fashionable style of castle unique to the 1400-1500s.

This remarkable castle isn’t reported to have seen any bloodshed, and served as a retreat.

The castle was built and is still owned by the Wemyss family. It’s beautifully preserved, despite having not been inhabited for around 200 years.
