The Dunimarle Collection at Duff House
The Dunimarle Collection is an exceptional collection of fine and decorative arts, assembled during the late 18th and 19th centuries. It includes paintings, prints, sculpture, china, glass, furniture, textiles, brasses, weapons and many books. A beautiful illustrated catalogue was compiled by Canon James Harper in 1912.
In the mid-1990s, the collection was transferred from Dunimarle Castle in Fife to Duff House in Banff, where it is now displayed.
In this book, 12 experts describe and assess aspects of the collection, picking out its highlights and exploring its themes and provenance. The book is extensively illustrated with photographs, and with extracts from Canon Harper’s fascinating catalogue.
